This wine comes from our Andreasberg monopole vineyard. It lies directly above the winery and has been cultivated by us since the 15th century. The vines grow on granite weathered soils in the south-west facing vineyard surrounded by the Black Forest. This Pinot Blanc is typically vinous, spicy, stony and does not deny its origins. Granite weathering with fine soil and a high lime content gives the Burgundy wines a lot of structure and race. Pinot Blanc is clearly defined and straightforward on the nose. Even subtle lime tones come to the fore. On the palate, it caresses the tongue thanks to its ageing in large wooden barrels. Bread crust and then lots of orange zest and a hint of fennel seeds. The wine is creamy and fresh at the same time. The wine was fermented in 1200-liter wooden barrels made from Spessart oak. A precise dry white wine that almost demands good food.
Recommendation: Serve at 7-12 degrees Celsius. The wine goes well with roasted or grilled meat, such as chicken and veal. It also goes very well with light dishes, such as a simple green salad.
