The 2019 Große Gewächs matured in the cabinet cellar of our Domäne Assmannshausen is almost beguiling with its intense blackberry and wild strawberry notes. A very elegant and well-balanced Pinot Noir with charming acidity, a fine tannin structure and a long-lasting finish.
Site: The predominantly steep slopes face south. The soil is composed of weathered quartzite and slate.
Vinification: The Pinot Noir from the Rüdesheimer Berg Schlossberg was harvested from almost 50-year-old vines in two harvests in mid-September 2022. The grapes were 100% destemmed, fermented on the skins and partly matured in large wooden barrels or in barriques for 20 months. On July 19, 2022, 1757 bottles, 45 magnums, 3 double magnums and 2 Methuselahs were filled.

Wines from the best sites
A unique cultural heritage, the best locations and the highest quality standards: these ingredients make our wines a special experience.
The vineyards of Weingut Kloster Eberbach cover almost 230 hectares in the Rheingau and on the Hessische Bergstrasse. The vines for our wines and sparkling wines grow on this terroir - sustainably and carefully produced, always with the demand for the best quality at an international level.
The history of Weingut Kloster Eberbach goes back just as far as the history of the cultural monument itself: Even for the French monks who settled in the Rheingau at the beginning of the 12th century, winegrowing was one of their main occupations. What was initially intended for their own consumption soon developed into a sought-after commodity that secured the future and prosperity of the monastery.
