Roederer Collection 243 1.5L

Since 2021, the multi-vintage blend Collection has been the worthy successor to the Brut Premier. The number of each annual Cuveé, e.g. 243, stands for the 243rd grape harvest since the founding of the House of Louis Roederer in 1776.243 combines the grapes of the 2018 vintage with the freshness of the "Réserve Perpétuelle" created by Roederer in 2012 and reserve wines from selected parcels, aged in large oak barrels in the Louis Roederer tradition. Shiny golden yellow, fine, dynamic perlage. The bouquet reveals a palette of ripe, fine fruits, including yellow fruits (mirabelle plums) from the Pinot Noir and sweet citrus fruits (tarte au citron) as well as delicate notes of white flowers (jasmine) from the Chardonnay, complemented by smoky and pastry notes. The palate is densely concentrated, deep, expressive and well-structured with a beguiling texture of Pinot Noir from the Montagne vineyard, which characterizes the mouthfeel and brings with it an immense saline freshness with a hint of bitterness. A powerful, aromatic wine in which the ripe Pinot Noir grapes are balanced by the chalky freshness and density of the Chardonnays that dominate this wine composition. This collection reflects a warm, full-bodied character thanks to the fully ripened fruit from the 2018 harvest. The freshness, energy and complexity of the "Réserve Perpétuelle" created in 2012 and the oak barrels that provide structure ensure length and lend finesse and persistence.
