The finely tart Riesling Gutswein shows plenty of fruit on the nose, with peach and gooseberry leading the way, along with delicate floral aromas and a hint of stone dust. The palate opens with a lot of pressure and juice, peach, nectarine and even a slightly tropical note with grapefruit in the foreground. The initial residual sweetness is only replaced by a fine bitter aroma and, with longer lingering on the palate, a rocky minerality begins to come to the fore, providing a dry finish with a good edge.

GREAT WINES FROM THE SAAR.
At the estate, the centuries-old wine culture is close enough to touch: in the spacious park of the winegrower's villa, above the huge vaulted cellar, under the old trees, surrounded by hydrangeas, roses and lavender, you can enjoy the excellent Riesling and Burgundy wines from our vineyards with all your senses.
We live and work from and with nature, it is our most important asset. For us, the preservation of the cultivated landscape with its steep slopes means responsible, conscious, nature-oriented cultivation - in addition to the practice of "gentle pruning", this includes above all the renunciation of insecticides, acaricides and herbicides.
Our wines are vinified just as carefully as we treat the vineyards throughout the year and the grapes during the harvest. All wines are fermented by natural settling and using wild yeasts in stainless steel and in large wooden barrels from the Stockinger cooperage - deep down, in our always cool slate cellar dating back to 1924. As a team, we develop our wine style in the tension between the two divergent sites of Herrenberg and Bockstein: typical of the Saar, accessible, clear in expression with elegant, ripe acidity.
The Moselle, one of the oldest wine regions in Germany, is world-famous for its elegant and mineral Rieslings. The steep slate slopes along the Moselle, Saar and Ruwer characterize the terroir and create ideal conditions for characterful white wines with lively acidity.
In addition to Riesling, Elbling and Pinot Blanc are also grown. Historic wine towns such as Bernkastel-Kues, Traben-Trarbach and Cochem invite you to enjoy with romantic wineries and impressive cultural landscapes. The Moselle combines excellent wines, breathtaking landscapes and a long tradition.
