Broken Barrel 2021

Simply unmistakable - that is the Fairview Broken Barrel. This vintage focuses on the spicy grape varieties Shiraz (62%), Mourvèdre (24%) and Grenache Noir (14%), which were used for the red wine cuvée. The wine pours into the glass in a dark red hue and reveals the inviting aroma of black pepper, cloves and herbs on the nose. Nuances of ripe plums successfully round off the first impression. The spicy and fruity aromas continue on the palate: Notes of blackcurrant, cinnamon and a hint of fynbos characterize the taste of the Fairview Broken Barrel. The full-bodied but well-balanced red wine with a good tannin structure matures for eighteen months in oak and is a great accompaniment to a barbecue. But spicy dishes or a delicious cheese platter are also an excellent choice with the Fairview Broken Barrel.
