2000 Chavarri Rioja Gran Reserva

The Chavarri Gran Reserva from Bodeags Larchago is a fascinating Rioja Gran Reserva. The cuvée of predominantly Tempranillo with a small proportion of Mazuelo (French Carignan) matures for 24 months in barriques made from the finest Allier oak. After bottling, a further three, often up to six, years of bottle ageing follow before the wine is released for sale. A great, deep and complex wine with fine fruit, immense spice, wonderful harmony and very good ageing potential. A great Rioja wine!

Recommendation: Serve at 16-18 degrees Celsius, decant with pleasure, this Gran Reserva goes very well with strong dishes with dark meat, braised or roasted, game, duck and strong raw milk cheese. We recommend enjoying this wine until 2025+.
