2017 Château Rauzan-Ségla 2ème Cru Classé

A dense, ruby red color with purple reflections. One of the stars of the appellation, it shows body and texture that were not easy to achieve in this vintage. The bouquet is beautifully complex with blackcurrants, licorice and smoky oak in the background. The palate shows sweet tannins and lively, well-integrated acidity. It is a full-bodied, intense and elegant wine with an enormously long finish and remarkable ageing potential.

Recommendation: Drinking temperature 16-18 degrees Celsius, open 1-2 hours in advance, decant if possible. An excellent accompaniment to steak with carrots, potato truffle puree and strong jus or mature hard cheese made from raw milk. Optimal drinking maturity 2023 to 2049.
