2022 Juliénas "Roche Bleue"

The chalky soils give the "Roche Bleue" an intense bouquet of peach and red fruits; on the palate, earthy and slightly peppery notes are added, giving the Beaujolais a ripe yet fresh character.
The Roches Bleues grapes come from Château de la Bottière from vines that are on average 40 years old. The soils are composed of mica schist, granite and limestone. The name Roche Bleue of this cuvée (from different Gamay sites) refers to the volcanic bluestone that runs through the terroir. Still has 4-5 years of ageing potential.
