The best of the primary rock, an extraordinary wine with a fine aroma, noble elegance, interesting acidity - alcohol play, strong fruit nuances such as mandarins and apricots, a gigantic Veltliner style with a pear finish, a Veltliner that lives up to its name. Great ageing potential!
The Kremser Weinzierlberg vineyard (site) is one of the oldest in the Krems Valley. The soil consists of granite and gneiss, covered by layers of loess of varying thickness. In places, roots only 30 cm deep lie over the primary rock that reaches right into the 1000-year-old wine town of Krems an der Donau.

The roots of the Zöhrer winery and family go back 750 years to the time of the Babenbergs.

We work consistently to exploit the potential of the great vineyards, which are among the most important in the Krems Valley. For it is there, in the terroir of the vineyards, that the strength of the Zöhrer winery lies. Most of the vines were planted by the grandfather and father 40 to 100 or more years ago. The focus is on the varieties Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. The wines have an unmistakable profile, are characterized by their origin and enjoy international appreciation.

That Kremstal is an important wine-growing region in Lower Austria, which extends around the city of Krems on the Danube. It connects the gentle hills of the Danube Valley with the foothills of the Waldviertel. The Kremstal is known for its first-class Grüner Veltliner and Rieslings, which find ideal conditions here thanks to the combination of loess and primary rock soils as well as the Pannonian and cool Waldviertel climate.

In addition to the wines, the region is characterized by its picturesque cellar alleys, traditional wine culture and the charming mixture of history and modernity. The Kremstal is one of Austria's DAC areas, which underlines the special quality of the region's typical wines.
