2021 Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge

The 2021 Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot and has a deep garnet-purple color. After a little shaking, notes of fresh blackcurrant, black raspberry and mulberry emerge from the glass, followed by hints of allspice, dried rose and Sichuan pepper with a fragrant hint of lavender. The medium-bodied palate shimmers with vibrant layers of black and red berries, supported by fine-grained tannins and compelling tension, finishing long and minerally. Beautifully made!
