2021 Lynch Bages

It has the austerity you want from a great wine from the Left Bank early in its life, with cool, spicy raspberry leaf, bell bell pepper and peony. Tons of tannins with slate structure, not very concentrated, making it an outlier among recent Lynch Bages vintages, but it is exceptionally well balanced and has excellent appellation character with cassis and blackberry fruit. A high tannin index of 90IPT. Harvest from September 27 to October 9. One of the best in Pauillac, rounded with chewy tannins. 75% new oak.
