2020 Pinot Gris Rangen de Thann Clos St Urbain

Pale golden color. The nose reveals complex reductive smoky aromas that are quite persistent and intense. It also expresses a cheeky youth and power. It is worth giving the wine time to open up: It finally opens up with the classic flint aromas, but also shows some discrete white fruit flavors. On the palate, it is lively, powerful and multi-layered with an austere structure. The 2019 also shows a strong acidity on the finish, which emphasizes the salty minerality of the wine and makes it taste very dry. It will develop slowly and for the better.
