2019 Convento Santissima Annunciata

The winery SS. Annunciata is located on Monte Orfano, like the monastery of the same name from which it takes its name, built in 1449. The monks who lived in this mystical and spiritual place chose Bellavista to revive a unique vineyard whose origins date back to the turn of the first millennium. The 5.45 hectare vineyard has a Mediterranean climate and consists of two different soils, one above and the other below a tree that stands between them. Two plots that obviously require special care, a separate harvest and different for their grapes to produce a small cuvée. The 100% Chardonnay must ferments in small 3-4 year old oak barrels, where it spends a further 12 months, followed by another year in the bottle.
