The 2018 Cardinale is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot and was aged for 22 months in French oak barrels, 81% of which were new. A deep garnet purple, it prances from the glass with convivial aromas of warm cassis, black cherries and wild blueberries, followed by emerging earthy flavors with an undercurrent of tobacco and garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, graceful and refreshing, the vibrant black and blue fruit palate offers a wonderfully fine-grained texture and plenty of energy leading into a long finish.
