The 2018 Gabbro (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is possibly the most elegant wine I have ever tasted at Montepeloso. Deep black cherry, chocolate, grilled herbs, licorice and menthol give the 2018 fabulous depth. Even with all its opulence, the 2018 remains so balanced and light on its feet. The new oak just needs a little time to settle. There is little doubt that the 2018 is an absolutely magnificent wine in the making. It is a benchmark for the expression of Cabernet Sauvignon on the Tuscan coast.
