A spicy, harmoniously round, fruity-sweet Spätlese.

In our winery, the Laurentiuslay Spätlese is often the one with the lowest residual sweetness.
We are convinced that the vineyard character of this extreme vineyard comes out most clearly in the fruity-tart rather than fruity-sweet range. Due to the hot microclimate, the very powerful and spicy flavor is reminiscent of brown spices such as clove and nutmeg, as well as ripe apricots and the grated peel of bitter oranges. Meanwhile, the somewhat rounder acidity structure is reminiscent of overripe lemons and provides structure and refreshment. Despite the effectively present residual sweetness, the Laurentiuslay Spätlese is classically savory, which is particularly enjoyable as a food companion after several years to decades of bottle ageing.

The Moselle is one of the oldest and most renowned wine-growing regions in Germany, known for its steep vineyards along the picturesque Moselle loops. It is considered home to some of the best Rieslings of the world, famous for their elegance, minerality and lively acidity. The unique terroir, characterized by slate soils and a mild climate, offers ideal conditions for viticulture.

The region includes well-known wine villages such as Bernkastel-Kues, Piesport and Traben-Trarbach, which delight with their rich wine tradition. In addition to Riesling, grape varieties such as Elbling and Müller-Thurgau can also be found here. The Moselle combines excellent wine with an impressive cultural landscape, in which steep terraces, historic wineries and romantic villages characterize the picture. A true paradise for wine lovers and connoisseurs.
