2018 Abtsberg Riesling Auslese No. 88 noble sweet

The Auslese has an elegant, playful character on the nose. It has a fruity aroma of vineyard peaches, yellow mirabelle plums and apricots and floral aromas of yellow and white flowers. A hint of Earl Grey and bergamot harmonizes with almond paste and juicy ripe lemon. It is complex but elegant on the palate. The yellow stone fruit can be found here again. Peach and tangy juicy orange in particular play a major role. Added to this is the salinity and slate aroma so typical of the Abtsberg, which gives it its crystal-clear and precise structure. Subtle herbs such as lemon verbena and eucalyptus are also present. The acidity is delicate and well integrated. It gives it length, juiciness and is very animating. A hint of bergamot lingers on the palate in the finish.
