Merlot has been produced at the Winkler-Hermaden winery since 2003 and has since become the winery's second strongest red wine variety. The grapes for this wine come from various vineyards in Kapfenstein. After mash fermentation in steel tanks, the wine is matured for at least 1 year in large wooden barrels.
