Sauternes are generally regarded as the finest sweet wines in the world, apart from German Riesling Auslese wines. Their smoothness and sweetness, coupled with a fine acidity, make them highly complex and elegant. Doisy-Vedrines is certainly not one of the best-known wineries in Sauternes, but in good vintages it impresses with an excellent price-performance ratio.
