The Boroli 2017 Barolo Brunella draws its fruit from the chalky clay soils of the village of Castiglione Falletto. The wine is tart and streamlined with a slightly soft and plush, but not overly ripe fruit. Impressive from the silky texture of the tannins in these new releases from 2017, a vintage that made tannin management more of a challenge as the summer heat forced earlier ripening. That being said, this Brunella is definitely more structured compared to the other two wines I've tasted from this estate.
