2016 Fonseca Vintage Port Douro

Vintage ports are always the special pride and flagship of every port wine producer. They are only produced in the best years and from the perfect and healthy grape material. After a short storage period (two years) in a large wooden vat, they mature for many years in the bottle. They have an immense longevity (30-50 years are not uncommon) and usually only develop their potential after 15-20 years, but then they are an absolute delight, whether simply on their own or with well-matured blue cheeses.
