2015 Roederer Cristal Brut GK

Created in 1876 especially and for the first time for Tsar Alexander II of Russia, Roederer Cristal Brut is one of the most sought-after prestige cuvées in the world. For the first time since 2002, the new, spectacular 2015 vintage comes from all 45 vineyard parcels over 20 years old that are eligible for the assemblage of Louis Roederer's legendary cuvée. "Cristal 2015 delivers intense and delicious aromas with outstanding energy and magical vibrancy. This is a timeless champagne of supreme balance and measure, resonating with the chalkiness of its soils rather than the very sunny character of the year. A perfect Cristal, intense with enormous ageing potential," says Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, cellar master at Louis Roederer. The bouquet initially reveals notes of yellow fruit and roasted almonds from the Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir contributes hints of juicy red fruits. Powerful on the palate with an intense liveliness that impresses with its velvety texture and fine aromas of candied citrus fruits and iodized spices. A champagne with immense vertical richness, fresh, precise and chiseled. The extremely tasty finish is based on juicy, saline notes influenced by the wood. It is densely concentrated and at the same time has great aromatic finesse. Already charming, outstanding ageing potential.
