2015 Clos Saint Emilion Philippe "115"

The 2015 Château Clos Saint Emilion Philippe is a pure Merlot blend that underwent a long maceration of two months without new oak, only one-year-old 300-liter barrels from the little-known Miquel cooperage. It has a ripe and opulent bouquet with macerated red cherries, liquorice and cassis, the wood is cleanly integrated. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with supple tannins. On the palate it shows more refinement than on the nose: well defined, quite taut with a slightly spicy finish that lingers, with a hint of coca in the aftertaste. Once the aromatics improve, this could be a very fine Saint Emilion.
