2015 Château Pontet-Canet AOC Pauillac 5° Cru Classé

The château has undergone strong development since the turn of the millennium. The son of Cognac producer Tesseron runs the estate and is supported by consultant Michel Comme. Comme vinifies by feel rather than relying on temperature controls and the like. The high proportion of Cabernet and the ageing in new wood result in powerful, tannin-rich wines that need to be aged for a long time to reveal their full potential. The wine was matured in barriques.
