2014 Maternigo Valpolicella Superiore

Maternigo means "mother's land" and is also the name of one of the Tedeschi family's vineyards. The vineyards cover around 33 hectares in two municipalities, Tregnago and Mezzane di Sotto. The new Cru-Amarone Riserva Maternigo is only produced in the best years and its grapes come exclusively from the Barila vineyard. This single vineyard was selected after careful zoning and characterization of the soil, which is characterized by very low vigour and consequently produces grapes rich in structure. Wine description: On the palate, there are fine eucalyptus notes that give the wine freshness and at the same time hints of sweet spices. The impressive result is an elegant wine with great structure and exciting development potential.
