Carter's 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortuna Vineyard is laced with the essence of raspberry jam, cloves, licorice, spice and menthol. Rich, unctuous and powerful, the 2014 exudes depth and the concentration that is so typical of this wine and site. The tannins are a little firm today, but a few more years in the bottle should suffice. Compared to some of the other wines in the series, the Fortuna is a little light, especially in the middle.
