Dark red cherry, plum, iron and smoke are all found in the 2013 Merlot, a wine that is packed with tons of Mt. Veeder flavors that are bright and punchy throughout. The addition of Malbec adds richness and intensity to the mid-palate, while hints of white pepper and blood orange enhance the wine. With time in the glass, the Merlot darkens a little, but it never gives up that super-classic expression of Veeder that is such a calling card.
