The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Rennina is a dark, lush and juicy red wine with seamless integration. Angelo Gaja makes his wines with broad brushstrokes that form shapes of perfect harmony and grandeur. He seems less interested in the small details, just as an impressionist painter paints a portrait without regard for the harsh details of reality. To stick with my art metaphor, I dare say this is a big-picture wine that combines bold fruit, oak spice, acidity and tannin in an overwhelming and warm embrace. I usually rate the Sugarille a point or two higher, but this year the Rennina has won my heart.

Angelo Gaja is a famous Italian winemaker. He is known for his high quality standards, care in winemaking and a clear idea of a "Gaja wine".
The roots of the company lie in Spain (17th century). The Gaja winery was then founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja , a grape producer in Barbaresco. Since the 1980s, the company has expanded its range of wines in other areas of Piedmont and Tuscany and now also produces Barolo and Brunello di Montalcino.
The current owner Angelo Gaja is known to have had a great influence on wine production throughout Italy with his oenological and economic methods. His wines are considered a status symbol on a par with Château Lafite-Rothschild or Krug.
The Tuscany is one of the most famous wine-growing regions in Italy and famous worldwide for its excellent Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.Characterized by gentle hills, cypress alleys and a Mediterranean climate, the region offers ideal conditions for the grape varieties Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tuscany combines a long wine tradition with modern innovation. Famous wine towns such as Montalcino, Montepulciano and Bolgheri invite you to discover their wineries, tastings and impressive landscapes. In addition to the top wines, the Tuscan cuisine and cultural heritage of the region attract visitors from all over the world.
