2001 Guimaraens Vintage Port Douro

In certain years, Fonseca does not produce a classic Vintage Port because the vintage was not outstanding. Nevertheless, the winery is of the opinion that particularly good and healthy grape material is available, albeit in small quantities, and that it would be a shame to blend it into the normal Rubys or Tawnys. An "alternative" vintage has therefore been created, the so-called Guimaraens Vintage after the family name of the owners. Perhaps not quite as long-lasting and high-end class as the classic Vintage, but always an insider tip.
