2021 To Maike and the Rest

To Maike and the Rest is a testimony to our life journeys, to the friends we share them with and to those who are no longer with us. Symbolized by a mapped hike up Devil's Peak - to memories in unexpected places.
A Chenin Blanc fermented on the skins for twelve days and made from 100% whole clusters is made with heart. The oxidative style results in a complex wine with good acidity.
The vines grow in the Paardeberg area of the Swartland region and are rooted in granite soils under a sandy top layer of varying depth.
It is an alternatively produced wine with minimal added sulphur from grapes that are harvested early for freshness. The resulting wine is naturally acidic and has a lower alcohol content, which is matured in small oak barrels. Bottles produced: 1,196.
