The grapes for our Ingelheimer Chardonnay VDP.AUS ERSTEN LAGEN come from the cool and chalky vineyards of the Ingelheimer Schlossberg, the north-east facing Westerberg and the Ingelheimer Horn. This powerful Chardonnay has a mineral aroma of nuts, caramel and yeast as well as a salinity and vibrant acidity on the palate. The use of wood is barely noticeable. A great white wine for pleasant hours.
VDP.AUS ERSTEN LAGEN wines are terroir ambassadors that reflect the classified and historically verifiable first sites of the district. In Ingelheim, the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling grape varieties in the Ingelheimer Burgberg, Täuscherspfad, Kirchenstück and Schloßberg vineyards have been classified and are listed under the place name "Ingelheimer". Wines from the first vineyards impress with their enormous complexity, elegance and long storage potential.

Since 1881, the J.Neus winery has stood for Pinot Noir tradition in the red wine town of Ingelheim am Rhein. Back then, founder Josef Neus Senior laid the foundation for our self-imposed goal, Pinot Noir at the highest level level. Today, these old vines, well-maintained wooden barrels and in-depth knowledge of the chalky vineyards in the district form the solid basis for meeting the standards we have set ourselves.
