2014 Barolo Prapò

Sparkling ruby with garnet reflections, bright in the glass. Initially somewhat restrained, it then opens with fine notes of raspberry, plums, sweet blackberry and liquorice. The palate reveals rich, dark fruit with dense tannins and a sweet core, it is wonderfully full-bodied, with a liquorice and leather finish and a very long finish with even more spice.

Recommendation: A wonderful wine. Serve decanted at 18 degrees Celsius, goes well with hearty meat dishes such as rack of lamb with a strong jus, braised ox cheeks with truffle and celeriac mousse, fine game birds or spicy cheeses. Optimal drinking maturity 2018-2029.
