2018 McDougall Ranch Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

The last of the Pinot Noirs, the 2018 Pinot Noir McDougall Ranch is one of the larger production cuvées (even if it is a small bottling) and comes from a vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. Notes of violets, Bing cherry, strawberry and raspberry as well as plenty of stems and spice rise from the glass, and this medium-bodied, savory, complex Pinot Noir has building tannins, solid mid-palate depth and a nice finish. Possibly my favorite of the bunch, it has excellent balance between fruit, tannins and acidity. It will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and will keep for over a decade.
