2017 Pym-Rae

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Pym-Rae leaps from the glass with bold notions of black cherry, mulberry, plum jam and dark chocolate with an opulent undercurrent of Indian spices, potpourri, sandalwood and cinnamon stick. The medium to full body is packed with rich, seductive black fruit jams and an explosion of exotic spice sparks, framed by firm but wonderfully soft tannins and fantastic tension, with a very long and beguilingly fragrant finish. With much more weight and density in the mid-palate than many 2017s, this second vintage is an absolute stunner. Due to the strict selection process, only around 1500 cases were produced this year.
