The Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is where it all began. In 1971, this was the first vineyard planted in the area that is now part of the world-class, cool-climate Sta. Rita Hills appellation. This iconic vineyard is now home to the oldest Pinot Noir vines in Santa Barbara County. The 2017 vintage continues this legacy and is characterized by great concentration and balance.
PROFILE & WINEMAKING
Our 2017 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict is bright, beautifully layered and nuanced. Flowers, pipe tobacco, pomegranate, raspberry and cinnamon adorn this sensual wine. On the palate, it displays earthy, spicy red berry flavors and a soft texture. To showcase the vineyard, the wine is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels (30% new).
