Intense berry aromas, fine woody notes, round and balanced. The soil plays a decisive role in our Merlot. The soil is very poor, which means that the berries remain very small and a high physiological ripeness is achieved. The wine therefore never tastes opulent and develops its full flavor as it matures in the bottle.

Bottler, importer: Gerlinde Ott, Obere Ortsstraße 37, 3134 Reichersdorf, Austria

Thomas Ott and his family have set themselves the goal of producing wines that are not only of high quality, but also establish a connection to nature and the region. The artisanal work in the vineyard and in the cellar as well as the use of traditional methods are of great importance. The result is wines that not only delight the palate, but also touch the soul.

Thomas Ott's wines have an unmistakable character and reflect the uniqueness of the Traisental. The mineral notes and aromas of the region make them a very special pleasure experience. With numerous awards and top ratings, Ott wines have long since secured a place among Austria's top wines.

The Traisental wine-growing region is a seductive wine region with rolling hills, small vineyards, rustic wine taverns and idyllic cellar lanes. The geographical center of Lower Austria lies in its smallest wine-growing region, the Traisental wine region. Wine is grown here on 848 hectares, which corresponds to 3% of Lower Austria's wine-growing area.

3,600 years of winegrowing history are the fertile ground for the dynamic growth of Lower Austria's smallest winegrowing region. Predominantly young winegrowers characterize the omnipresent spirit of optimism, they run small structured businesses and have great visions. With strong solidarity, they are also working on possible solutions to react to climate change and are gearing their wineries towards sustainability.
