The Golden Slopes is named after the deep yellow granite rocks that can be found in this vineyard (planted in 1966). The soils naturally consist of granite with a clay content of 15%. As a result, the grapes ripen a little later than in the other vineyards on the estate, and the wine always has plenty of texture and tension on the palate; the acidity and length are also wonderfully balanced. The aromas are dominated by yellow fruit, quince and spicy notes. Vinification is quite simple when working with fantastic grapes from old vineyards. The total yield of the vineyard is around 2 tons/ha. The grapes are pressed and transferred to older barrels for fermentation and maturation. Bottles produced: 1,520.
