Our Ingelheimer Spätburgunder Alte Reben comes from vines that are up to 45 years old. The old vines have particularly deep roots and their loose and small-berried grape structure gives the wine a profound variety of aromas and minerality. Forest fruit aromas and fine roasted aromas from the long ageing in barrels characterize the wine. This Pinot Noir is characterized by a silky elegance and straightforwardness. In addition, its strong structure gives it a storage potential of 5-10 years.
VDP.AUS ERSTEN LAGEN wines, as terroir ambassadors, reflect the classified and historically verifiable first sites of the district. In Ingelheim, the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling grape varieties in the Ingelheimer Burgberg, Täuscherspfad, Kirchenstück and Schloßberg vineyards have been classified and are listed under the place name "Ingelheimer". Wines from the first vineyards impress with their enormous complexity, elegance and long storage potential.

Since 1881, the J.Neus winery has stood for Pinot Noir tradition in the red wine town of Ingelheim am Rhein. Back then, founder Josef Neus Senior laid the foundation for our self-imposed goal, Pinot Noir at the highest level level. Today, these old vines, well-maintained wooden barrels and in-depth knowledge of the chalky vineyards in the district form the solid basis for meeting the standards we have set ourselves.
