The site covers 4 ha, our share is 0.85 ha. The acre is an old agricultural measurement that denoted the size of land that a man with a team could cultivate in one acre. Hohenmorgen is located in the warm slope zone on a narrow limestone reef along the foothills of the Mittelhaardt. The weathered red sandstone soil with limestone deposits gives the wine both fullness and ageability. A lively Hohenmorgen with fine aromas of ripe vineyard peaches and citrus fruits, elegant and stony in the fruit with a beautiful freshness and a very long finish.
Recommendation: Serve chilled at 9 degrees Celsius, goes very well with grilled crustaceans, stuffed Bresse pigeon, roasted loup de mer with creamy truffle risotto or mature Vacherin cheese. Although this wine is already proving its greatness today, it still has a great future ahead of it.
