2023 Sauvignon Blanc Black Label

The Babich Black Label Sauvignon Blanc is light yellow in the glass and has an opulent aroma of gooseberries, nutmeg, violets and passion fruit. Tropical fruit aromas can also be found on the palate, e.g. in the form of lively passion fruit, pineapple and lemon flavors. This luscious juiciness is supported by a fine minerality and complex acidity, which give the finish a fresh, elegant and long finish. The young Babich Sauvignon Blanc fermented at relatively low temperatures in stainless steel tanks, developing its clear fruit. Its subsequent maturation in wood gave the Sauvignon Blanc complexity and texture, but did not detract from its effervescence.

Recommendation: This is the accessible yet extremely refined Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from the pioneering Babich winery, which was specially created to accompany food. Well chilled, the combination with veal, seafood (especially oysters!) or mild chicken dishes such as chicken korma with crispy papadams is highly recommended.
