Costa Russi is one of the world's best wines every year. The Nebbiolo grapes, which are vinified with five percent Barbera, come from a designated Barbaresco vineyard. Incredible depth and generous breadth make Costa Russi a unique pleasure. "Bright, intense ruby with a pronounced garnet hue. Opens on the nose with rich notes of ripe cherries, followed by raspberry and ripe watermelon in the background. A splendor on the palate, initially showing lots of red berry fruit, fine melting, then opens up with polished, dense tannins, firm pressure with a long finish." Falstaff
Recommendation: Drinking temperature 16-18 degrees Celsius, preferably open beforehand, please decant. Goes very well with dark meat dishes, Kobe beef roasted with potato mash and truffle jus, braised dishes and fine game birds. A mature hard cheese also goes very well with this wine. Optimal drinking maturity is 2017 - 2035+.
