2014 Barolo Bricco Pernice

The 2014 Barolo Ravera Bricco Pernice is full and soft with great fruit density. This is a beautifully balanced wine that shows more intensity than I would have expected from this cool vintage, which has generally produced thinner wines in comparison. There is a sweet, smooth spiciness on the finish. This elegant Barolo would pair very well with a beef and pork tail cassoulet. The wine has the fiber to age beautifully, but it will also show beautifully over the medium term for those looking for a more approachable Barolo.
