The flagship wine from Delheim, a classic Bordeaux blend with 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12.5% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, and 6% Merlot. Dark ruby red color in the glass and a complex bouquet of dark fruits on the nose, dominated by blackberries and cassis, followed by notes of tobacco, tomato leaves and fresh pencil shavings. On the palate, it is elegant and balanced with dark red fruit aromas and a soft, tannic finish. First produced in 1981, this wine continues to prove its enormous ageing potential. After around 15 years, a completely new spectrum unfolds and underlines this potential. If you don't want to wait that long, you should definitely decant the wine 2 hours before drinking.
Recommendation: Great wines do not need food, but great wines are a wonderful combination with most dishes. This wine belongs in the center of attention and any dish you can imagine with a strong red wine will go well. The more complex the wine, the simpler the dish can be: rib-eye, chips, rooibos butter or a simple truffle risotto.
