2022 L'Airone Vermentino

After the harvest, the must is clarified by natural settling of the turbidity by storing it overnight in a cool place. After fermentation, the wine remains on the fine lees (or lees lees) for about 3 months, with frequent manual pumping over. After this time, it is clarified from the fine lees by natural, cold settling and lightly filtered. It then remains in the bottle for around 3 months, under the best storage conditions. Vintage 2022: It was a year with a tendency towards heat. The rainy fall was followed by a dry and not very cold winter. Spring was instead cooler than usual, followed by a hot and dry summer. Some rainfall in mid-August refreshed the vines. Ripening then continued with milder temperatures, especially at night. Our vineyards were spared water shortages thanks to the very deep alluvial soils, which allowed the vines to develop a well-developed root system over time. The Vermentino was harvested on September 12. Airone is a wine with a bright, pleasant and harmonious color, tasty, with the typical aroma of grapefruit, which gives slight bitter notes on the finish. It also has hints of exotic fruits and aromatic herbs.
