2022 Antillo Bolgheri

After fermentation, the wine is stored for around 9 months in used wooden barrels on the fine lees and stirred once a week. It is naturally filtered by repeated decanting. It then matures for at least 3 months in the bottle under the best storage conditions. Bolgheri DOC Rosso ANTILLO is a red wine that is suitable for medium storage. It is best stored in a cool, dark place in a horizontal position. YEAR 2022: It was a year with a tendency towards heat. The rainy fall was followed by a dry and not very cold winter. Spring was instead cooler than usual, followed by a hot and dry summer. Our vineyards were spared water shortages thanks to the very deep alluvial soils on which the vines were able to develop a well-developed root system over time. A few rains in mid-August refreshed the vines. Ripening then continued with milder temperatures, especially at night when it became cooler. From mid-September, daytime temperatures also dropped, with the cooler days being characterized by sun and wind. The Sangiovese and Petit Verdot were harvested on September 18, the Cabernet Sauvignon at the end of the month. Antillo is a very pleasant, balanced and fresh red wine with intense, fruity and spicy aromas.
