The vineyards of Somek Estate Winery at the foot of the Carmel Mountains have been cultivated by the family without interruption since 1882 and the Haderech Halevana (a cuvée of 50% Roussanne, 40% Chenin Blanc and 10% Viognier) comes from one of the best sites. The wine gleams bright gold in the glass, with intense aromas of grapefruit, ripe apple and subtle notes of hazelnut and caramel on the nose. Very smooth and full-bodied on the palate, the moderate acidity is present and beautifully integrated. There are noticeable notes of roasted pine nuts on the finish, the aftertaste is long and wonderfully elegant.
Recommendation: The wines were fermented separately, the final cuvée matured for one year in oak barrels and left in the bottle for a further six months. With its density and complex structure, Haderech Halevana is a wonderful accompaniment to seafood and fish, but also to pasta dishes with rich sauces - a wonderful discovery that we definitely recommend!
