2015 Clos St. Julien Grand Cru

Represented by Jeffrey Davies Selections, the 2015 Clos Saint Julien is a blockbuster from a tiny vineyard owned by Catherine Papon-Nouvel, who is also the owner and winemaker of Petit Gravet Aîné (and her 2015 from that vineyard is brilliant too!). Made from equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it has a deep ruby/plum color, followed by a terrific bouquet of red and black fruits, dried herbs, truffles and dried flowers, with a subtle background of chocolatey oak. With its full-bodied richness, incredible texture, a stacked mid-palate and a finish that won't quit, this is a 2015 that savvy wine lovers should snatch up! It will benefit from 3-4 years of cellaring (if you can keep your hands off the bottles) and will knock your socks off over the following decade or more.
