Morillon, as the Chardonnay is called in Styria, produces very beautiful, meltingly mineral results here on the Kapfenstein volcanic soils. The wines are not so fat and are more reminiscent of polished Chablis, elegant with delicate hints of flint, ideal as a food companion to slightly salty, clear vegetable and fish dishes.
